Teijin FRA Tire Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
The company was established in June 2014 as a tire cord manufacturer with technologies in the areas of yarn twisting, weaving and bonding. Construction commenced in September 2014, and full-scale operations are scheduled to commence in the latter half of fiscal 2016.
The company was established as a joint venture between Teijin Frontier, Ayaha and Teijin as an optimally located plant for automotive rubber materials for the Teijin Group in the China and ASEAN region.
By combining the advanced processing technologies of Ayaha and Teijin with Teijin Frontier's converting function, in addition to polyester and nylon tire cord for general tires, the company is expected to develop business in the areas of rayon, aramid and polyethylene napthalate (PEN) tire cords that require expertise in production technologies, providing materials for highly functional tires to meet expected future demand from the perspective of improved fuel efficiency and other requirements.
