Teijin Develops High-performance Stretch Fiber for Bottomwear
Teijin Frontier Co. Ltd., the Teijin Group's fiber-products converting company, announced today that it has developed a high-performance stretch fiber called Solotex® OO that features the superior elasticity of polyurethane with the soft texture and shape stability of PTT fiber.
By combining Teijin Frontier's Solotex® PTT fiber and Asahi Kasei's ROICA™ polyurethane fiber, Solotex® OO achieves excellent elasticity in a soft, lightweight, and shape-stable fiber perfect for bottomwear applications. Clothes made with Solotex® OO enable wearers to move comfortably and to easily slip in and out of even tight-fitting designs. Optional capabilities like high-level thermal insulation, UV shielding, absorbency, quick-drying, and non-translucency can easily be added to the fiber, widening the scope of applications and suitable markets.
Teijin Frontier has been developing various materials to meet growing demand for higher performance stretch fibers, and it aims to reinforce its business development in the clothing market by growing sales of Solotex® OO.
